Selecting Clickbank Products: how do you know which product to choose?

Lately I’ve been looking at getting back into Clickbank. It’s something I flirted with a while back but my focus stalled and now I’m thinking it may be time to review that thinking. So I did a little googling as you do.

Alexa Smith has some sage input on the whole process of choosing which Clickbank products to promote as an affiliate.

I’ve summarised her ideas here, as much for my benefit as yours.

    1. are the likely buyers already affiliates in the niche? eg IM
    2. does the product sales page have opt-ins, free trials etc
    3. how legit is the copy? not too over-the-top?
    4. are there any pop-ups or discounts?
    5. what’s the gravity (many recommend lower the better)?
    6. does the sales page seem like it will convert well?
    7. what’s the product like – good?
    8. does the vendor get back to you?
    9. 50% or better earnings per sale?
    10. can you write a review/article about product ie understandable?

How To Become An Authority As Seen By Google

In a forum a colleague posted a reference to a website, and that article had a link to a post in forbes.com discussing the Hummingbird update. It made it pretty clear that well-written, relevant and original content is what Google is reinforcing as important to their audience. No change from what has been recommended for many years. More importantly, the Forbes article drew logical inferences from Google’s actions. It is looking to reference sites and content that implies authority. Here’s my take on what you need to do based on that article. What are you doing to build your perceived… Read More »How To Become An Authority As Seen By Google

      Make Your Own Favicon

What’s a favicon? It’s that weenie little graphic you usually see in the address bar or on the tab of your browser that is like a baby visual brand for the website.

Most temploates come with their own favicon so you don’t have to worry. But, if you don’t have a favicon, or you want to change the one you have, then sites like http://iconfu.com/ exist to make it easy. With these guys you create it then choose the file extension and it’s downlaoded to your computer. All you need to do then is upload it to the right spot on your site (either the root directory or the template file- depending on where the template calls it from). And you’re done.

Tip – delete your cache before reloading your website to test it’s there! If not, your browser will just pull up the one it saved to the temp file.

Writer’s Block: How To Put It Behind You

From time to time, I get writers block. For some reason, the ideas simply don’t come. There I sit just staring at the screen……..nothing happening. Or I just write something, delete it, write something else, delete it again. I suppose anyone who writes will get writers block at some point. Here are ways I manage to break through writers block. Change the Method If you work on your computer most of the time, use a pen and paper instead. Try moving to a different desk. Just write down some words, any words or brief ideas. By changing scenery and a… Read More »Writer’s Block: How To Put It Behind You

          Build Your Expertise… Fast

Just attended a webinar and want to pass on some key tips from Gihan Perera.

            1. Create your newsletter – short and sweet better but HAS to be high value content. Subscriptions to newsletters dropping but blog subscriptions increasing.
            2. Post to your blog – post at least weekly, prepare a batch of posts in one go and schedule their release dates, cut and paste from your newsletter, review videos or articles or books and summarise or comment on those, talk about what you know
            3. Create a podcast – audio mp3 file
            4. Produce a video – sit in your backyard with your webcam and knock it up. It’s about quality content more than high production values.
            5. Use tools to automatically update – twitterfeed.com, tell LinkedIn to update from your tweets, tell YouTube to post video to twitter and Facebook, AddThis.com.
            6. Blogger or WordPress – either! Blogger is quicker to set up and get going. You can then export yourRead More »Build Your Expertise… Fast
