Traffic: A Lesson in How Important it is.

On a recent road trip I came across a crystal clear real-life example of the importance of having traffic coming to your online properties. The story of two garages, directly opposite each other, while driving through Buhladelah. Moral of the story? No matter how pretty or flash your online space is, if no-one gets to see it, it may as well not be there!

MYOB Business Basics and Windows 7

I’ve been really happy overall with my MYOB Business Basics.

It’s a slimmed down accounting package which has served me well and I know how to use it. I don’t want to have to learn another system or upgrade to a major accounting package which has more functionality than I need.

If I keep using Windows XP I have no problem I believe. There’s no tax tables to update and barring any major accounting law changes I’m set to stick with the combo of MYOB BB and Win XP.

It wasn’t wholly satisfying – I spent more time making it sound like me and getting the content right than it would have taken to have written one myself in the first place!

One thing that stopped me and others it seems is how to format an eBook and how to structure the all important call to action and ensure links back to you.

I like what John White has to say here:

“The about-page is rather busy and contains seven hyperlinks, but I tried to ensure that each of them would stand out at a glance:

        • a link to my online portfolio
        • a link to this blog
        • a SurveyMonkey link on which to harvest reader feedback
        • my e-mail address
        • a RetweetThis link
        • a link to my LinkedIn profile
        • a link toRead More »Writing Your eBook Well
